The initial inspiration for the track came from the brief. For a band known for our "prog" tendencies to stretch a song or two out for a bit, the challenge to contain ourselves to within half a minute was a novel and interesting one. We tend to write songs from the seed of a lyrical idea and this was no different. The self- referential "over in the blinking of an eye" popped up and the rest of the song developed from there- with probably a three- way meaning (especially if one sees the video too)
